Elizabeth Harrah

I began working with Barbara about 3 years ago. Dixie and I have gone from knowing nothing to now working on our NW2 Title. Barbara teaches her students a great foundation and if you choose to compete, you will notice how well she prepares you, to handle all sorts of different situations and trial conditions.

gambler

Gambler’s nose work foundation training got sidetracked by our move to Tucson from Northern California. Here I found Barbara, a NACSW Certified Nose Work Instructor, who took us back to the basics. Now Gambler has the drive, focus, and odor obedience I’d hoped he would develop. Within six months, he passed the NACSW Odor Recognition Test and, three months later, got his first leg in AKC Scent Work Novice. It’s not just about Gambler, either. Even though I’ve been involved in nose work for more than a decade, each day training with Barbara broadens and deepens my ability as a handler

Britnay

After getting Britney we needed a focus for her all over high energy. With Barbara’s training we have been able to focus her and mold her into the nose work detection champion she is today!

Jewel

My Standard Poodle, Jewel, was not confident and afraid of most everything. I thought getting her into Nose Work would be a good sport for her since it is an independent sport. I signed up for Barbara’s class but a few days before we were supposed to start, I was getting ready to drop out as I was afraid of Jewel’s fear of big dogs. After talking to Barbara, we worked out a plan for classes that I felt comfortable with and knew I had to just jump in. Barbara worked with me to help Jewel get through many of her insecurities. She has excelled in Nose Work and loves it. Barbara is an excellent trainer and a friend. I would not hesitate to recommend Barbara for any kind of dog training.

I have trained 4 dogs with Barbara. She begins her students with a strong foundation. Later, classes advance to challenging lessons and working on building strong skill sets. Barbara’s teaching style is disciplined but she really is ALL heart and supports her students 100%

Barbara’s training methodology has helped me as a handler to build a solid foundation in nose work. This foundation has encouraged and motivated Kiara to work independently and problem solve to accomplish the given task. Barbara’s instructing enables each team to successfully move forward into new and greater challenges with their dog and have fun at the same time!
